Description

Reports to: Steel Master Scheduler

Job Overview: Prepare nested cut cards and other documentation to convert raw shape steel into semi-finished parts for fabrication. The information on the cut card needs to be read, understood, and verified prior to cutting. Understands each machine's operation such as feed rates and three-dimensional models for programming to obtain required productivity. Responsible for programming and nesting incoming files for fabrication machines. These machines include an Angle Master, Plasma Plate Machine, Drill and Saw line, Plasma Structural Cutter and Plasma Tube Cutter. Willingness to assist wherever needed when programming is completed. This will include but not limited to the areas of accountability listed below.

Areas of Accountability
  • Understand, interpret, and edit 3D CNC programming
  • Read and interpret parts drawings, cut lists, and written instructions to perform daily tasks
  • Complex understanding with Tekla EPM ERP Software
  • Mark / tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required
  • Assist in routing of material through ERP system
  • Assist in reviewing and entering of Intercompany material through ERP System
  • Assist parts department on questions or how to operate equipment correctly

  • Ability to flex to multiple items, crossed trained on items to always remain busy
  • Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs due to job requirements
