Overview

Environmental Test Engineer role at MBDA. Stevenage, UK. Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification. Security clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship (delete line if not applicable). Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. After offer, successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

Join MBDA’s Environmental Engineering and Facilities team to support design and In Service Surveillance activities across the MBDA product portfolio. You will work on tests that simulate real-life environments including temperature, humidity, shock and vibration, using a variety of test equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Join the Environmental Engineering and Facilities team and support design and In Service Surveillance activities.
  • Undertake tests of MBDA products using equipment that replicates real-life environments (temperature, humidity, shock, vibration).
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop test strategies from customer requirements.
  • Document reviews, data processing and reporting in line with customer specifications and MBDA standards.
  • Support technical reviews with key partners.
  • Travel to Henlow occasionally as required.
What we’re looking for from you
Essential
  • HNC/HND/Degree in a subject relevant to the role or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Good problem-solving skills with knowledge of mechanical structures and analysis.
  • IT competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using measurement equipment and devices (accelerometers, thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.).
  • Self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills; methodical and safety-conscious.
  • Strong analytical and logical approach.
Desirable
  • Experience leading or contributing to project delivery in a team.
  • Experience with LMS vibration control equipment or other automated mechanical test systems.
  • Experience identifying and delivering capability and technical improvements.
