Overview

Join to apply for the Engineer role at Quintessential Brands Group.

G&J Distillers - our flagship distillery in Warrington - is looking for a Shift Engineer to help keep our bottling operations running smoothly around the clock. The role is part of a small but mighty team of Engineers, reporting to the Maintenance Manager and playing a vital role in both planned and reactive maintenance across our fast-paced bottling, distillery, and warehousing operations.

You will be involved in machine changeovers, troubleshooting automation systems, fixing problems fast, and ensuring we deliver every bottle to the highest standard.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to planned and reactive maintenance to reduce downtime and maximise equipment uptime across bottling, distillery, and warehousing operations.
  • Support machine changeovers and troubleshooting of automation systems to keep production flowing.
  • Work with the maintenance team to ensure safety and efficiency in a high-paced production environment.
Key Qualifications
  • A qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer (NVQ Level 4 / HNC / Recognised Apprenticeship).
  • Proven experience with electrical control systems, PLCs, and automation.
  • Experience in FMCG, bottling, or canning is desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable with CMMS systems and strong fault-finding techniques.
  • A team player with initiative, problem-solving skills, and a “get stuck in” mindset.
  • Able to operate safely and efficiently in a high-paced production environment.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Shift allowances: +28% for 24/7 rotating shifts (AM, PM & Nights); +15% for a 2-shift pattern (AM & PM).
