As a team we support engineering and construction projects across the UK, working with diverse clients in Water, Power, Energy and Aggregates. Our projects range from £5k to £15m, including Principal Contractor and Principal Designer roles.

Job Purpose

A working supervisor role to oversee and manage a team of electricians on several frameworks for Thames Water in the Thames Valley region.

The Role

Contract 40hrs per week, Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, all overtime paid, weekend overtime at inflated rate.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise electrical installations in accordance with BS7671, Bridges Health & Safety Rules and Essential Standards.
  • Ensure installations meet the project quality plan and inspection & test plans.
  • Follow and promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment, stop work if unsafe.
  • Coach and mentor Electricians, Electrical Improvers/Mates and Apprentices.
  • Promote Bridges' values when dealing with peers, staff, customers and clients.
  • Promote positive health and wellbeing among peers.
  • Act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting business goals and maintaining a positive reputation.
Requirements
  • ECS Gold Card (essential)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)
  • Appropriate City & Guilds trade qualification
  • Experience within water/wastewater industry
  • Experience supervising a small team on installations
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation and company procedures
  • Prepared to take responsibility for self and others
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Fit to work medical

  • CCNSG and EUSR
  • Inspection and testing certificate
  • Ability to write simple risk assessments
