A municipal organization in Cardiff seeks a Community Park Ranger to help manage and promote public green spaces. This role includes engaging with local communities and providing outdoor environmental activities. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in the environment and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Training in Countryside Management will be provided, ensuring you develop skills in a rewarding and supportive team environment.
Cardiff is well-known as a city of parks and green spaces, and this is your opportunity to help in shaping their future as part of a small but dedicated team of Community Park Rangers to manage and promote the natural environment within our public green space network.
As a member of a dynamic team, reporting to the Conservation and Community Development Manager you will learn to engage with local communities and volunteers in supporting the promotion and management of the natural environment within parks and open spaces, nature reserves and woodlands and working with partner organisations to deliver community focussed outdoor environmental activities.
The post will be based at Forest Farm Conservation Centre, but will involve working across the city.
You will need to have an interest in the environment and be self-motivated, flexible, adaptable and keen to learn new skills. You will need to be confident in engaging with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
You will be willing to undertake a tailored programme of training to develop your skills which will include professional training in Countryside Management.
Owing to the nature of the role, the post-holder will be required to work a shift pattern including evenings and weekends as required.
