South Lanarkshire Alcohol & Other Drugs Reachout Service – Type of service: Drugs and Alcohol Service – Job Type: Support Practitioner – Hours: Full time (37.00 hours) – Salary: £24,242 - £25,264 (pro rata) – Contract: Fixed Term - 6 months Maternity Cover – Based: Carluke
Responsibilities
- As a Support Practitioner, work with individuals who have a wide range of support needs, providing practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve personal outcomes in daily life (e.g., keeping safe, meaningful activities, community involvement, physical health, relationships, emotional health and wellbeing).
- Work with individuals on an individual 1:1 basis or alongside others as part of a team; ensure services are person-centred and involve families, friends, health and social care professionals, advocacy services and staff members where appropriate.
- Engage with service users who fall into three groups: those who do not engage at any level, those who sporadically engage, and those who partially engage focusing on medical treatment.
- Operate flexibly and creatively across South Lanarkshire, in partnership with CAReS teams and The Beacons, 7 days a week including evenings and public holidays.
- Utilise harm reduction approaches and safety as a priority, involve families and communities to reduce stigma and improve engagement and retention in the service pathway.
- Record and report as required, liaise with partner agencies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- IT skills are required for all vacancies.
- Potential candidates may need to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date where applicable.
- UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (as applicable).
