A reputable steel fabrication company is looking for an Apprentice Plater Welder to join their team. The role requires hands-on fabrication and welding of architectural metalwork, with opportunities to learn and develop skills through a structured apprenticeship. Dearneside Fabrications Limited are looking for an Apprentice Plater Welder to complete a Level 3 MetalFabricator apprenticeship and join their team.
The fabrication is a noisy environment; PPE is worn all day and overhead cranes are in operation. The welding department is very busy. Quality of workmanship is high and all operatives are responsible for the quality of work they output.
Established in 1994, Dearneside Fabrications have gradually become one of the largest and most respected specialist steel fabricators servicing the UK construction industry. With an enviable reputation for architectural metalwork working nationwide. All other areas of steel fabrication work are carried performed by our highly-skilled operatives, including Balconies, Secondary Steelwork, Staircases, Balustrades and General Metalwork.
During the first year you will be required to attend the University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre in Sheffield, full time for an initial block of study. You will return to your workplace one Friday per month. After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study. The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.
