Job summary

A regional water company in Wales seeks an Operational Technician to operate Water Treatment Works and manage associated pumping stations. The successful candidate will be responsible for stock management, contractor supervision, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations. Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulatory bodies such as DWI and Environment Agency/NRW.
• Experience in controlling abstraction under licence at raw water intakes.
• Understanding of discharge consent licence for all environmental discharges.

Responsibilities

• Operate Water Treatment Works and associated pumping stations.
• Control chemical and consumable stock levels.
• Induct and supervise contractors for maintenance tasks.

Skills

Knowledge of Health & Safety issues

Computer systems literacy

Experience in the water industry

Education

NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in Water
