A prominent healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is seeking an NMC Registered Nursing Associate to join their team at Harbledown Ward HASU. This role focuses on delivering person-centred care to stroke patients and requires a qualified Nursing Associate or someone willing to undertake training. This post is for a NMC Registered Nursing Associate is a new role being introduced into the health and care workforce in England from 2019. It is a generic (not defined by a field of nursing) but within the discipline of nursing. Nursing associates are intended to bridge a gap between health and care assistants, and registered nurses. Nursing Associates are a new profession, accountable for their practice.
Nursing Associates are expected to act in the best interests of people, putting them first and providing nursing care that is person-centred, safe and compassionate at all time adhering to Trust values and policies. Nursing Associates are expected to apply their six NMC proficiencies in all day‑to‑day activities.
You will be based at Harbledown Ward HASU, a 24 bedded inpatient stroke unit with a strong ethos of rehabilitation. In East Kent Stroke service we are undertaking significant improvement works, supported by a Kent and Medway Stroke Service reconfigurations, with commissioning in place to build new HASU / ASUs sites by 2026 and a mechanical thrombectomy centre by 2024.
Applicants must be qualified NMC Registered Nursing Associates or willing to undertake training to qualify as a Nursing Associate. Previous experience in a stroke setting is an advantage.
