A women's charity in Brighton seeks a Therapeutic Group Support Assistant to facilitate support for women during therapeutic sessions. You will work with a Lead Facilitator to create an inclusive environment, assist with practical tasks, and provide emotional support when needed. This role requires counselling training or experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to a full group cycle. This position is open only to female applicants for genuine occupational reasons.
Help us welcome and support women during our therapeutic groups across Sussex.
Our groups are the heart of what we do, and our Therapeutic Group Support Assistants play a crucial role in ensuring these sessions run smoothly.
You will work alongside a Lead Facilitator to create a warm, inclusive, and physically comfortable environment.
The successful candidate will join a highly regarded women‑led, women‑centred, and trauma‑informed charity.
Greet participants as they arrive. Support the Lead Facilitator with practical tasks (handing out materials, managing refreshments, or keeping time).
Provide a calm, grounded presence. While you are not the primary therapist, you may offer one‑to‑one emotional support (e.g., sitting with someone who needs a moment outside the circle).
Closing the Space: Assist in packing away and briefly debriefing with the Facilitator after participants have left.
