Job Summary

The SMT Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and basic programming support of SMT process equipment used in PCBA manufacturing, including board marking, solder paste printing, solder paste inspection (SPI), SMT placement, and reflow thermal profiling systems. The role ensures stable equipment operation, consistent product quality, and adherence to production, safety, and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Operate SMT equipment (solder paste printer, Pick & Place, reflow oven) following work instructions.
  • Perform machine start-up, changeovers, and basic setup adjustments to support production.
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintain target OEE by minimizing downtime, responding to alarms, and escalating issues promptly.
  • Complete in-process checks and production documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow 5S, ESD, and safety standards.
  • Meet daily production and quality targets.
Required Skills / Qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of SMT machine operation experience.
  • Able to run SMT equipment independently and recognize common defects.
  • Able to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Basic math, measurement, and computer skills.
  • Able to stand for long periods and handle small electronic components.

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
