A local charity special school in Newcastle upon Tyne seeks a Head Teacher to lead the school, focusing on nurturing children with Special Educational Needs (SEND). The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience and a genuine commitment to educational excellence. Responsibilities include managing staff and fostering community relationships while implementing new initiatives. Due to the retirement of our Head Teacher, we are looking to recruit to this role. We want the successful candidate to be able to build on our strong foundations, and take our school to its next stage, whilst continuing to nurture and inspire our children and staff to be “the best they possibly can be”.
We are looking for someone with the right experience and dedication to work with our children with Special Educational Needs and join our passionate staff team.
We are a registered Charity and a Non-Maintained Special School, with up to 70 children ranging from Reception to Year 11. Class sizes are usually no larger than 6 children.
The successful applicant will have overall responsibility for leadership and management of the school. They will lead with courage, integrity and passion, be resilient and confident, and demonstrate experience of leading, managing, motivating and supporting school staff, while developing good working relationships with children, parents and carers and the wider professionals who form part of our unique provision at Talbot House.
The role involves working closely with the CEO and contributing to a dynamic and inclusive learning environment, bringing new initiatives and challenges to everyone in the school.

Hours of work are: Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 3:00pm.
Salary is competitive for a school our size, and enhancements may be offered depending on experience.
