This is an exciting position for a registered dental nurse to work within the maxillofacial nursing team at Morecambe Bay Hospitals where we provide Oral, Maxillofacial, Orthodontics and Restorative dentistry services across bay.
The team is very motivated, innovative and committed to providing excellent clinical care to patients.
The post will be based at RLI but expected to work as part of the cross bay team to provide occasional cover to other sites.
Assist with the provision of clinics which include treatment clinics and trauma and ensure adherence to relevant professional standards to support clinical care delivery to patients.
To ensure policies / guidelines and protocols for the maxillofacial department are followed.
To ensure all required training is undertaken.
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with trust guidelines and policies.
Ensure patient dignity and individual needs are met.
Determine the comfort of the patient using communication and relationship skills.
Work as an effective team member and support continued team development.
Responsibility for maintaining dental units and ensure they comply with health and safety and infection prevention.
Maintain departmental stores and equipment.
Participate in team meetings.
Support patients undergoing treatment with relevant pre and post operative instructions.
