An educational institution in the UK is offering an Early Years Educator Apprenticeship aimed at experienced individuals working with children. This role entails leading activities, supporting children's development, and ensuring their safety. Applicants should have GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths and possess good communication skills. Support will be provided to help meet entry requirements, which may include completing a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Opportunities for advancement to higher qualifications are available.
The Early Years Educator Apprenticeship is for more experienced employed individuals who wish to further develop skills and knowledge as well as practical work experience in roles involving working with children.
This Apprenticeship is for supervisory level early years educators, with responsibility for leading activities or groups. This is for those who have experience in the sector and are wishing to take on room lead roles, with potential to progress to management.
Apprentices will need to be working towards and achieve the following job role requirements before their End Point Assessment (EPA):
On completion you could progress on to the Level 4 Certificate for Early Years Advanced Practitioner or into employment.
Every employer is different and therefore the entry requirements can vary. As a guide you ideally need GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths and in some cases ICT.
If you are 19 or over, functional skills are not required unless requested by the apprentice’s employer.
However, we will work with you and provide additional support in order to help you achieve the functional skills element or GCSE requirements of the Apprenticeship. Support can be delivered either prior to your Apprenticeship or during the delivery of your programme.
You need patience, understanding, a strong desire to work with children and good communication skills. You will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for your employer.
You will have access to a Learning Resource Centre. There is a refectory in the Hele Building.
Other costs would include the purchase of recommended textbooks. You will need an enhanced DBS check done through your work placement or the College.
