Overview

Help us make a difference as a Waste Operative based at Britvic - Rugby

A quick look at the role.

The Waste Operations Supervisor will support the Contract Manager by overseeing the day-to-day running of the recycling yard, supervising 3 day-shift operatives and 2 night-shift operatives. The role involves liaising with internal and external waste providers to ensure waste streams are removed and containers emptied as required.

• Hours: 40hrs per week
• Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri, 06:30-14:30
• Pay: £15.12 per hour
• Overtime available

Interviews: 19th & 20th February

Start date: week commencing 16th March

Responsibilities

• Supporting Contract Manager by supervising recycling yard operations of 3 x day workers and 2 x night workers
• Liaising with internal and external waste providers to ensure waste and containers are emptied when required
• Capturing and recording all data accurately as required.
• Operating machinery which include Forklift, Compactor and Balers.
• Collecting and running waste from lineside to recycling yard
• Upholding all Health and Safety and company procedures
• Signing in at the beginning of every shift and signing out at the end of every shift
• Reporting Accidents, near miss and incidents in a timely manner.
• Reporting any issues to the Team Leader, Supervisor or Contract Manager that could impact the operation.
• Ensure correct PPE is always worn whilst on site.
• Customers site policy and procedures are adhered to at all times in line with Biffa’s.
• Promoting a positive safety, health and wellbeing culture at site
• Ensuring a good customer care and positive interactions with customers, drivers and other stake holders
• Maintain housekeeping to the safe and high standard that Biffa and client require
