A community-focused veterinary practice in the Peak District is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a forward‑thinking, community‑focused small animal practice where clinical skills, teamwork, and patient care are genuinely valued.
The successful candidate will enjoy a varied and engaging caseload, with the flexibility to shape the role around their strengths and interests. Whether they thrive in consultations, enjoy working up more complex medical cases, or prefer a hands‑on surgical mix, the practice is keen to tailor the position to the individual.
Working alongside an experienced veterinary and nursing team, the role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing development of the practice while delivering personalised, high‑quality care to patients and clients.
The team is made up of 8 vets, 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 1 Patient Care Assistant and 9 Client Care Associates across two well‑established branches. Typical shifts include two consult days (9 am–6 pm), one ops/inpatient day (9 am–7 pm), one second ops day (8 am–4 pm) and are based over a 40 hour week with just 1:7 Saturday Mornings only.
Based in the beautiful Peak District, the practice has been part of the local community for over 40 years. The area offers exceptional outdoor lifestyle opportunities, with excellent transport links including a direct 30‑minute train route to Manchester and easy access to Sheffield.

You must be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and eligible to register with the RCVS to be considered for this role.
