Job description

Support Worker required in S10 to support a lovely Autistic female adult whose special interests include doing art and chatting about many childhood TV programs from the 90s. She loves cats whilst being unable to cope with having her own. Her support runs 7 days a week, so we have to make sure she gets cover over weekdays and weekends as well as over national holidays. You’ll be working alongside a small team of patient and open-minded Support Workers who all work part-time too.

Current rate of pay: £14.32 per hour

4-6 hour shifts available throughout the week (includes weekends)

Duties

• Providing companionship and emotional support to the client
• General housekeeping – washing up, laundry, hoovering, cleaning
• Preparing her meals, maintaining her routine
• Accompanying on a daily local trip (afternoon shift only)

Person Specification

• Under the Equality Act 2010 it is an occupational requirement that the employees of this job are female
• Preferably Sheffield based, so available during bank holidays (including Christmas and Easter)
• Caring and compassionate, able to build up trust with the client
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to work flexibly, adapting to employer’s needs
• Experience and/or knowledge of neurodivergence preferred
• Full on the job training provided (12 weeks)
