At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Senior Training Evaluator at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

The Role

As a Senior Training Evaluator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. As a key member of the People Capability Enhancement Programme (PCEP) team, you’ll be leading the evaluation of training and processes that support the regeneration of submarine capability. You’ll ensure that learning solutions are credible, sustainable, and continuously improving—making a real impact on operational excellence and safety across the Royal Navy’s submarine programmes. This is a unique opportunity to influence learning strategy in a complex engineering environment and grow your career in a high‑profile programme.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll lead training evaluation and quality assurance activities, collaborate with programme teams and subject matter experts, ensure compliance with functional standards, and assess learner competencies to drive continuous improvement in training delivery.

  • Leading training evaluation and quality assurance activities to ensure sustainable learning solutions
  • Integrating into the programme leadership team to plan and conduct evaluation processes
  • Ensuring compliance with functional requirements and identifying areas for improvement
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to refine training interventions
  • Evaluating learner competencies to ensure knowledge and application are demonstrated effectively

This role is full time 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Experience
  • Passion for raising standards across technical and business operations
  • Expertise in learning development and evaluation of learning outputs
  • Ability to break down competencies into knowledge, skills and attitudes
  • Extensive experience in engineering or educational environments
  • Familiarity with compliance training and defence industry standards
Qualifications
  • Foundation degree (Level 4) in training evaluation or technical discipline
  • Degree level (Level 5) qualification preferred
  • Equivalent qualifications and relevant evaluation experience considered
