A leading UK healthcare institution is looking for a Trust Doctor (CT1/2 Equivalent) in Trauma & Orthopaedics. The role includes providing day-to-day care for in-patients and participating in surgical procedures under supervision. Candidates are required to have GMC registration and an Advanced life support certificate. This is a full-time position with a 12-month contract based at Worthing Hospital, offering a comprehensive experience in trauma and orthopaedics.

Full-time with participation in a full shift rota system (1 in 10). The successful trainee will provide day-to-day care for in-patients on wards, HDU and ITU, see all patients prior to surgery, and, whenever possible, be in theatre to assist and learn. In out-patients, they will see new patients under a consultant’s supervision and present cases to consultants for discussion of future management.
Provide day-to-day care of patients on surgical/orthopaedic wards, attend ward rounds, operating lists, and general out-patient clinics. Assume responsibility for consultants’ patients on the wards. Work alongside F2 doctors reviewing patients on the trauma orthopaedic ward, children’s ward, and other orthopaedic beds. Arrange admissions and initial management of emergency admissions.
The department has eight orthopaedic consultants who hold out-patients and fracture clinics. Consultants admit trauma patients to Worthing and elective/rehabilitation patients. Daily fracture clinics are held; plaster room facilities, technicians, and full X‑ray support are available. CT and MRI scanners are at Worthing Hospital, and radiology is computerised with PACS.
