Job Description

Subject: History. An ability to teach Politics is highly desirable.

Department: History and Politics. The department delivers History at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level, including the Edexcel A Level Politics course. We also offer broad curriculum opportunities and value diversity in race, ethnicity, gender and wider perspectives.

  • The History and Politics Department achieves outstanding results at Key Stages 4 and 5, significantly above national averages
  • The department is a strong and thriving team of six teachers
  • We deliver History at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A Level, with excellent student uptake at both GCSE and A Level
  • We deliver the Edexcel A Level Politics course, which is a popular and successful option
  • We pride ourselves on the breadth of our curriculum and commitment to diversity
  • The department is well resourced with electronic resources, textbooks and magazines
  • Staff development and wellbeing are supported and encouraged
  • Students behave well and feel safe; strong pastoral support is provided
