A logistics firm in Manchester is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to focus on Air & Ocean freight sales. You will be responsible for building and maintaining an active sales pipeline, managing customer appointments, and collaborating with teams to onboard new clients. Responsibilities

  • Build, manage and maintain an active pipeline to achieve sales targets.
  • Manage appointments and customer visits.
  • Maintain appointments and opportunities in the CRM System.
  • Create sales pipelines for presentation to the Commercial Manager.
  • Compile customer visit reports as required.
  • Work with pricing team on quotations and tenders.
  • Follow customer onboarding protocols.
  • Maintain customer relationships with regular review meetings.
  • Ensure all agreed KPIs are met.
  • Attend UK Sales Meetings as required.
  • Meet weekly with the Commercial Manager.
Job description

Rhenus Logistics is a fast growing freight forwarder investing in its sales team as part of a long‑term commercial strategy. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to cover the North, focusing on Air & Ocean freight sales.

Main Duties
  • Build, manage and maintain an active pipeline and secure Air & Sea freight Customers to achieve sales targets.
  • Manage appointments and customer visits.
  • Maintain all appointments and opportunities within the Company’s CRM System with a high level of data quality.
  • Create and maintain a sales pipeline for presentation to the Commercial Manager.
  • Compile customer visit reports and distribute as required.
  • Work with the pricing team on quotations and tenders to support opportunities.
  • Follow customer onboarding protocols to include credit applications, credit terms, and create SOPs.
  • Work with relevant branch managers and operation staff to successfully onboard new customers.
  • Maintain and build customer relationships with regular review meetings.
  • Ensure all agreed KPIs are met at all times.
  • Attend UK Sales Meetings or internal meetings as required.
  • Meet weekly with the Commercial Manager, either via Teams or face to face.
