Job summary

A well-known logistics company in Manchester is looking for a Class 1 Driver. This role offers a pay rate of £18 per hour, with guaranteed 8 hours of work daily, Monday to Friday. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 months of HGV driving experience, a valid CPC and DIGI card, and effective communication skills. Training and support will be provided. Overview

Major recruitment are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-know globe distribution company within the logistics and transportation industry.

Daily duties

• Operating and driving Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring timely, safe and professional deliveries to customer sites
• Knowledge of driving/working hours
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Keeping the truck and equipment clean and tidy

Essential Skills

• Must have held licence minimum 12 months
• Valid CPC & DIGI card - ADR is essential
• Must have minimum 12 months experience in HGV driving
• No more than 6 penalty points and no major endorsement codes
• Must be able to speak and read a certain level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Effective communication skills
• Flexibility and availability to work overtime as and when required
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Must be punctual and have good timekeeping

Desirable Experience

• Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial.
