A leading educational institution is seeking a Community Support Engagement Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role involves providing advice on employment and education to adult learners, conducting assessments, and developing pathways to support. Candidates should have significant experience working with adults and hold relevant qualifications. Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on employment, education, and volunteering.

  • Develop pathways for accessing employment support.
  • Conduct proactive customer contact for further support.
  • Occasionally travel across different sites.

Job Title: Community Support Engagement Officer

Colchester but with travel to Braintree and Tendring, Full time, Fixed Term Contract of 12 months.

About the role:
  • Provide effective advice regarding employment, education, training and volunteering opportunities to enhance customer's ability to find work
  • Complete initial assessment with customers, establishing starting point for them to make choices in regards to employment, education, volunteering and training
  • Work with different customer groups to remove barriers that prevent individuals returning to employment and devise appropriate solutions
  • Develop clear pathways for customers to access employment support, debt/money management advice and other support through local organisations
  • Carry out proactive customer contact to customer groups who have been identified as needing further support and advice
  • Develp campaigns with local partners to maximise effort in engaging hard to reach groups
  • Support the design of ad deliver training courses, preapring material and resources that support the learners to achieve social jsutice outcomes and improve employability
  • Be able to travel across different sites
Essential Experience:
  • Significant experience in working with adults, providing support and mentorship to enable them to achieve their goals.
  • Experience of working in partnership with organisations and stakeholders to achieve common outcomes.
  • Experience of proactively seeking new opportunities within the community, with employers and stakeholders to enable mutually beneficial dialogue to commence.
  • Minimum 12 months experience of working in a busy administrative environment.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Teaching or Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Support (PTLLS) or equivalent or willing to work towards the qualification.
  • Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.
  • Level 2 IAG qualification or willing to work towards the qualification.
  • Level 2 NVQ (or equivalent) in Business Administration.
