Overview

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Product, Player to lead and evolve the end-to-end experience of how families and children engage with our player and app. In this role, you will be accountable for how families experience Yoto every day—from first listens, to daily playback and routines, through years of long-term engagement as children grow.

The Product team at Yoto builds products that spark imagination, independence, and joy for kids – while giving parents confidence and peace of mind. Product sits at the heart of how Yoto balances creativity, technology, and business impact.

Our organisation is structured into mission-driven clusters, each made up of cross-functional teams including engineering, product, design, and other key disciplines. The Player cluster leads the family and child experience across the player and app, enabling families to discover new content, features, and routines, and turning everyday listening into something magical.

This is a highly impactful leadership role at the intersection of child and parent experiences. You will lead the product teams responsible for playback, player management, content discovery, and the player OS, ensuring Yoto delivers an experience that is intuitive for kids, reassuring for parents, and powerful enough to scale into a global family audio platform.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and develop a high performance product team
• Own the end-to-end player experience across hardware, firmware, operating system, and app, delivering simple, reliable, and joyful experiences for families over time
• Create child-led experiences that spark imagination and independence, while earning parent and caregiver trust through clarity, safety, and thoughtful control
• Own playback, content discovery, and engagement, turning Yoto into a daily habit through routines, sleep, exploration, and on-the-go listening
• Drive long-term engagement and retention, designing experiences that grow with children as their needs and tastes evolve
• Define how families manage players, content, and settings, ensuring device and household management is intuitive and scalable
• Set the player OS strategy as a stable foundation for today’s experience and future innovation
• Aligning cross-functional and mission led teams, working closely with Hardware, Firmware, App, Design, Content, Data, and Growth to turn strategy into measurable outcomes

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience leading consumer product teams and delivering measurable outcomes across engagement, retention, and customer value
• A people leader who manages and coaches their team ambiguity, raises the bar for ownership and decision-making, and develops and retains strong PM talent
• Strong product judgment, with a track record of shaping clear, testable strategy and ensuring execution reflects intent
• Experience owning complex, end-to-end experiences across hardware and software in highly cross-functional environments
• A demonstrated ability to build joyful, emotionally resonant products, particularly for families or shared-use contexts
• An insight-driven mindset, using discovery and learning to continuously refine strategy
• Clear, influential communication skills, able to align Product, Design, and Engineering around shared goals
• Comfort operating in fast-moving environments and making thoughtful trade-offs without lowering quality

Nice to have

• Experience with connected devices, IoT, or consumer electronics
• Background in audio, media, or playback-centric products

• Flexibility:Hybrid working - expectation of 1 day a week on average in our London office, but you are welcome to come in more than this. How you meet the minimum expectation is up to you, to ensure you\'re happy and productive in your role whilst also getting that vital face time with your colleagues.Take advantage of our ‘work from anywhere’ policy to work from a different location for up to 6 weeks every year. Summer Hours policy to use between the months of June and August.
