Job Title: Senior Care Worker / Team Leader 🏡
Location: Bedfordshire / North Hertfordshire
Salary: £33,690 – £36,082 per annum + £60 per sleeping shift
Working Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 2 days on / 4 days off
Number of Sleeps Required: As per rota
Pay Per Sleep: £60 per night
Service: Children’s Home – EBD Residential Home
Service Users: YPs aged 11–17, EBD
Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner or equivalent 🎓
Experience in Years Required: Minimum 2 years in children’s residential care; at least 1 year in a senior role

- Assist the Manager in delivering high-quality care
- Lead by example and maintain professional practices
- Take responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of young people
- Ensure children have risk assessments, behaviour plans, and care plans implemented
- Lead shift plans, support staff, and manage incidents effectively
- Foster growth and development of both staff and young people
- Work proactively to help children achieve their full potential
Key Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience managing a staff team within a children’s home
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours
- NVQ Level 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people, colleagues, and external professionals
