Job description
Senior Manager, Product & Technology Communications

Full-time Posted 2 days ago Permanent London

At Spotify, the distance between a “big bet” in code and a headline in the press is bridged by incredible storytelling. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Product & Technology Communications to serve as the vital connective tissue between our R&D powerhouses and our Global Communications team.

What You’ll Do
  • Embed yourself within the Consumer Experience and Tech & Platforms teams to identify the “Bets” that have the highest potential for external impact.
  • Act as a strategic counselor and communications partner for our VP of Consumer Experience and SVP of Tech & Platforms, ensuring their internal messaging is high‑signal, inspiring, and aligned with the Spotify Rhythm.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Product/Tech leads and the Consumer Product Comms team, translating deep‑tech milestones into clear, pitchable narratives.
  • Manage the “healthy tension” between two highly opinionated groups: the technical visionaries building the product and the comms experts protecting the brand.
  • Use internal communications as the “testing ground” for external narratives, gauging employee sentiment and technical readiness to time and refine public‑facing launches.
  • Play a key role in the Spotify Rhythm, ensuring that the cadence of our internal technical updates matches the velocity of our product innovation.
Who You Are
  • 8–12 years of experience in tech communications, able to translate backend changes into consumer‑friendly hooks.
  • Comfortable working with senior, opinionated leaders; can influence without formal authority.
  • A self‑starter who works in the “white space” between teams while knowing when to pull others in.
  • Data‑informed and intuitive, using sentiment data and seasoned instinct to prioritize stories.
  • AI‑native, using AI tools as a creative collaborator to draft and visualize complex technical docs.
  • Authentic, witty, and unmistakably Spotify‑oriented in tone.
  • Recognizes and influences both day‑to‑day storytelling opportunities and moments worthy of external spotlight.
  • Values internal communications, ensuring the people who build and work alongside the product are their biggest advocates.
Where You’ll Be

This role is based in London, UK. The role allows flexibility to work from home with in‑person meetings 2‑3 days per week.

Benefits
  • Extensive learning opportunities through our dedicated team.
  • Flexible share incentives.
  • Global parental leave – six months off for all new parents.
  • Employee assistance program and self‑care hub.
  • Flexible public holidays and swap days off.
