Open Water Swimming Life Guard
GLL is looking for Open Water Swimming Life Guards based at Stanborough Park Water Sports Centre in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Stanborough Park provides Open water swimming every week throughout the year. Stanborough has been providing sailing since 1969 and is a Paddle UK and RYA Training Centre offering courses and practise sessions to adults and children.
As an OWS Life guard, you’ll be required to deliver high quality cover for our open water swimmers (from paddle craft), ensuring the health and safety of staff and customers, guaranteeing the highest standards of service. Working with water sports instructors and a swim safety team on a regular basis means you’ll need to have a positive and friendly attitude.
You’ll have a real passion for being outside on the water and working within a team. You must hold a valid first aid certificate, safeguarding certificate and Paddle UK SSRC - Swimmer Safety and Rescue Course. You can gain SSRC, and Safe Guarding with us at Stanborough. There is also the scope for unqualified candidates to gain more qualifications such as RYA Powerboat Level 2 with the Centre, as well as Paddle UK Instructor qualifications. Flexibility, punctuality and reliability are just as important as integrity, a can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service. Passion and personality will stand you in good stead too.

Therefore we’ll require you to complete an enhanced DBS check before you will be allowed to start work.
