Female Personal/Home Care Assistant – Leek, Staffordshire. JOB REF: NH0126. I am looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join a small team to support me and assist with a variety of tasks to enable me to live a full, safe and happy personal and social life. I have complex needs, including a tracheostomy and feeding PEG. I would prefer a female assistant as I require help with all personal care. I have epilepsy, am registered blind and have developmental delay. Experience is preferred but full training will be provided. I have part-time positions available, for one–two days a week, usually Thursday and/or Friday 9.00 am – 4.00 pm. You will be working with another employee or one of my parents at all times. I would also like the successful applicant to have flexibility to cover sickness and holidays for other team members where possible, in addition to the opportunity of additional evening and weekend shifts that may become available. A driving licence is needed to allow me access to the community; I am fully reliant on my wheelchair at all times and I have an adapted vehicle. I love crafts, massages, playing games, going out in the countryside, shopping and generally being one of the girls.
Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks related to complex needs (including tracheostomy care and PEG feeding) where required. Support independence and quality of life, ensure safety, assist with transportation as needed, and accompany me in the community. Work as part of a small team and coordinate with other staff and family members. Be flexible to cover sickness and holidays for other team members and potentially take on additional evening and weekend shifts when available. Contribute to engaging activities and companionship (crafts, games, outings, shopping, etc.).
