Job description

Join our passionate Foundation Learning Department as an Emotional Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, where you'll play a vital role in supporting learners with additional needs and barriers to education. This rewarding position focuses on promoting positive mental health, emotional resilience, and personal development in young people. You'll work closely with students and staff to provide targeted interventions and wellbeing strategies tailored to individual needs. We have an exciting opportunity at our City Centre Campus to join our Foundation Learning and Student Support Department as an Emotional Health and Wellbeing Practitioner on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience or qualification in Mental Health and Wellbeing, psychology, or social sciences.
  • Hold Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Experience of working with young people with mental health problems.
  • Experience of liaison with a range of agencies.
  • Experience of delivering services in a community setting.
  • Experience of caseload management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Skills and knowledge in using participatory young person ways of working.
  • Understanding of the issues young people face and how this impact on their mental health.
  • Relevant of experience of IT systems such as Microsoft packages.
  • The ability to use assessment tools and outcome measures and in collaboration with the young person.
  • Experience of forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with Young People and / or Vulnerable Adults.
