Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer – Biotech Mechatronics – Cambridge

A spin-out Biotech company, based in Cambridge, is hiring several Senior Mechanical Engineers to help accelerate the proof of concept, design, development, building, and testing of a novel life-saving biotech manufacturing device.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate the proof of concept, design, development, building, and testing of the hardware for a new biotech device.
• Collaborate with Medical Devices Physicists, Scientists, Electronics Engineers, and Design Engineers.
• Work on the design and development using 3D CAD; CAD experience is essential, ideally SOLIDWORKS.
• Contribute to mechatronics, automation, robotics, precision devices, or other complex electro-mechanical technology projects.
• Engage with other business areas, attend Biotech, Medical Devices, and Science conferences and trade shows as needed.
• Experience in startup/scale-up environments or in Medical Devices/Biotech/Scientific design consultancies is advantageous, though candidates from other complex sectors will also be considered.

Qualifications

• Degree and a master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Medical Devices, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or other relevant scientific subject related to mechanical engineering).
• Strong CAD experience for hardware development; proficiency in SOLIDWORKS is preferred.
• Senior-level experience with mechatronics, automation, robotics, or complex electro-mechanical technology.
