As Engineering Manager your role is to foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Youwillleadtheengineering team within Hitachi Energy’s service division,supporting the engineeringof lifecycle services—such asreplacement,extensions, upgrades, and commissioning—to electrical infrastructure across the power grid. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and operational excellence while driving innovation and efficiency in service delivery.

How you\'ll make an impact
  • Mentor, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring high performance and engagement.
  • Allocate resources effectively across projects andmonitorworkload distribution.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Resources projects for design delivery & support during installation, focusing on safety,timelydelivery, quality & margin improvement
  • Develops, implements, and improves relevant processes, policies, and procedures to improve effectiveness across the engineering function
  • Ensures the required systems and processes are available, understood and implemented
  • Provides updates to project managers on progress inprogrammereviews
  • Identifies,raisesand mitigates contractual risks
  • Provides engineering support and feeds back lessons learned in tendering
  • Initiates and encourages a continuousimprovementculture within the team
  • Provides training,developmentand guidance to team the wider business
  • Builds andmaintainsrelationships with the key stakeholders toprojectsboth internally and externally to the business.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new engineering talent.
Your background
  • Engineering degree, Engineering School, University or equivalent knowledge / experience, ideally in Electrical or Controls engineering.
  • We welcome talent with experience from the industry and you will be outstanding if you are from the energy sector: Oil & Gas, Power Distribution, Power Transmission, Power Generation.
  • Strong experience in complex projects and leading engineering disciplines, with significant experience of people leadership.
  • Passionate about developing teams and people, with an ability to drive large-scale, high-impact initiatives.
  • Take a pro-active approach to ensuring Health & Safety is paramount, including conducting Risk Assessments where necessary.
  • Significant customer interface experience, ability to influence others and lead teams, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
