Cygnet Health Care was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales.
Cygnet Hexham (Hexham, NE46 4JR) is a 27-bed mental health facility for women with complex mental health needs spanning two wards. Fisher Ward is a 17-bed acute service for women with complex mental health needs and Franklin Ward is a 10-bed PICU service for women which accepts emergency and crisis admissions. The hospital is built to meet the latest national specifications for improving mental health within a therapeutic environment.
Situated in the Tyne valley, the hospital serves the North East of England. The team includes consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses (RMN and RGN), occupational therapists, and support workers. Positive service user outcomes are at the heart of the services we offer at Cygnet Hospital Hexham, and every service user is assessed and treated as an individual in the best possible surroundings.
The post holder will be supervised by the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist for the North East.
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 185 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. We work as a large team with opportunities to be part of specialist interest groups and contribute to service development. Each service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathways. Our OT team members have a voice through service model development and the support of clinical lead occupational therapists.
We offer a 12-month Occupational Therapy preceptorship programme to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy skills.
