Job description

Lecturer in Welding

Location: North Yorkshire

Contract type: Permanent full‑time role

Salary: £29,500–£43,500 per annum

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop learners’ proficiency in MIG, TIG and arc welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and equipment maintenance
  • Deliver both practical hands‑on welding sessions and theory-based lessons, including health & safety, welding principles, and fabrication standards
  • Provide clear, realistic workplace‑focused training to prepare students for real-world welding and fabrication environments
  • Manage high-quality instruction, assessment, and progress tracking to help learners achieve their qualifications and their professional goals
  • Support students’ understanding of safety standards, professional practice, and industry expectations to prepare them for a career in welding and fabrication
What do you need?
  • A recognised welding qualification, Level 3 welding at minimum
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Practical welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, arc welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, maintenance)
  • Strong communication and teaching skills — capable of delivering practical sessions and theoretical instruction clearly and safely
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages progression and success
