Job Summary

Princess Alice Hospice is a charity supporting people in life, death and grief. We’re dedicated to working closely with individuals, communities and organisations in the London Boroughs of Kingston and Richmond and large parts of Surrey, to ensure more people receive the support they need.

Here at Princess Alice, you’ll have the opportunity to make a satisfying, rewarding difference to the lives of our patients, their families and friends, and be supported every step of the way. We’re small enough for you to see the difference you make every day, and big enough to support you with training, development and opportunities.

About the Hospice at Home team

Our Hospice at Home service brings the skills and expertise of our highly trained and dedicated specialist team directly into our patient’s homes. This allows patients, their families and carers access to the vital support they need at home, at a time when it really matters.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable Specialist Nurse / Practitioner with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, to join our Hospice at Home team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialists to support specific developments within the team, aimed at ensuring more people achieve their preferred place of care.

You should hold a relevant degree or diploma and demonstrate proven ability in caring for terminally ill patients. Experience in palliative care or oncology is essential.

About you

Motivated and adaptable, you’re ready to embrace innovative ways of delivering care that reach more patients in the community. With outstanding communication skills, you thrive in a multidisciplinary team – working collaboratively to understand and respond to the needs of patients, families and carers when it matters most.

If you are enthusiastic, personable, share our values and care about making a difference in the last years of someone’s life, we would love to hear from you!

Benefits
  • 27 days’ annual leave plus recognised public holidays – rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and 33 days after 10 years’ service (pro rata for part time)
  • Educational and professional development opportunities (we have an on‑site Education Team)
  • Monthly group reflections via Schwartz Rounds sessions
  • Free on‑site parking
  • Tranquil Hospice grounds
  • Clinical supervision (regular and we ensure its protected time)
  • Annual development day – protected time for you and your learning
  • Subsidised meals at our on‑site restaurant
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to the Blue Light Card discount scheme
  • Access to a Group Personal Pension Plan (provided by Scottish Widows) plus we also offer an Auto‑enrolment pension with NEST. If you have been a member of the NHS Pension Scheme, you may be able to continue your contributions to that scheme during your time at Princess Alice Hospice.
  • In‑house laundry of uniforms, plus excellent changing facilities (with showers, fresh towels and hairdryers)
  • Wellbeing care – we provide a programme of activities, opportunities and guidance to inspire and support our employees to live a healthy life, at home and at work.
