Overview

Location: The Prince of Wales Hospice, Halfpenny Lane, Pontefract; Registered Nurse; Location: The Prince of Wales Hospice, WF8 4BG. At The Prince of Wales Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care in a supportive and respectful environment. Our 14-bed inpatient unit, located just minutes from Junction 32 of the M62 in Pontefract, also offers outpatient and community services, including a successful Lymphoedema clinic.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at our Hospice, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients nearing the end of life. Working closely with patients, families and carers, you’ll promote dignity, comfort and choice, while supporting the emotional and physical well-being of those we care for.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence, continuous learning, and compassionate care. You’ll also contribute to mentoring and developing junior staff and students, ensuring a positive and professional environment for all.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is not only clinically skilled but also deeply empathetic and committed to hospice values.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • NMC Registration.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control and evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in contributing to audits, team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentorship skills to support students and new colleagues.
