A leading deaf-led theatre company in the UK seeks passionate individuals for its Board of Trustees, including the Chair role. Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership, ensuring governance, and guiding the organization’s long-term direction. Ideal candidates will have strong connections to deaf communities and experience or interest in theatre work. This is a voluntary role with travel expenses reimbursed. We are currently looking for passionate, thoughtful and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees, including a Chair of the Board, as Deafinitely Theatre enters an exciting new phase of growth.
Deafinitely Theatre is the UK’s first deaf‑launched and deaf‑led professional theatre company, working bilingually in British Sign Language (BSL) and spoken English. We create high‑quality theatre for deaf and hearing audiences, tour nationally and support the next generation of deaf artists through our youth and training programmes.

We are also recruiting a new Chair of the Board, to succeed our outgoing Chair, allowing for a supported handover of responsibilities ahead of his formal step‑down in December. The Chair will work closely with the Artistic Director and Executive Director to provide strategic leadership, ensure strong governance, and help guide the organisation’s long‑term direction.
