A healthcare provider in England is looking for an adaptable individual to manage applications for access to health records. The role involves assessing Subject Access Requests, liaising with clinicians, and ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations. Ideal candidates will have experience in medical terminology and IT packages, show attention to detail, and communicate empathetically. This position requires managing unpredictable workloads and tight deadlines while ensuring the confidentiality of health records.
We are looking for a conscientious, adaptable individual with a meticulous attention to detail to join our small specialist team. The post holder will be responsible for managing applications for access to health records from patients, third party representatives and authorised individuals The post holder will work within the requirements of the GDPR 2018, Access to health Records Act 1990 and associated information rights legislation.
You will be responsible for assessing each individual Subject Access Request identifying any issues of concern and liaising with relevant clinician(s) to achieve an appropriate outcome. You will be working to strict legislative deadlines in an environment where the workload can be unpredictable and interruptions frequent. You will be expected to deputise for the Disclosure Officer in their absence escalating areas of concern when necessary

The post holder will be required to extract relevant information from medical records, tailoring the release of records to the requirement of the application. A working knowledge of GDPR and AHR90 is essential.You will be expected to consider if any lawful exemptions apply prior to releasing copy records. You must be experienced in the use of IT packages and have a good understanding of medical terminology. You must be a confident, diplomatic, empathetic communicator, able to relay complex information to professional external bodies, patients, patient representatives and colleagues.
