About the Developing Quality Engineer Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Developing Quality Engineer to join our Quality team, based in Great Yarmouth.

This role is designed to support the implementation and maintenance of ODE’s Quality Management System (QMS) and to develop capability across quality assurance, quality control and continuous improvement activities. Working under the guidance of the Lead Quality Engineer, the successful candidate will gain structured exposure to projects and operational quality activities, progressing toward a fully autonomous Quality Engineer role.

The role supports delivery of work in compliance with applicable standards, client requirements and regulatory obligations, while promoting a culture of quality, learning and right-first-time performance.

Key responsibilities include

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company QMS
  • Assisting with the development, review and control of quality procedures, processes and records
  • Supporting supplier, vendor and subcontractor quality assurance activities

Project & Operational Quality Support

  • Assisting with preparation and review of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Supporting review of quality documentation, certification and project dossiers
  • Providing quality support to project and operational teams under supervision

Audits, Inspections & Compliance

  • Supporting internal and external audits, including preparation and close-out of actions
  • Assisting with site and fabrication inspections as required
  • Tracking audit findings, non-conformances and corrective actions to closure

Non-Conformance & Continuous Improvement

  • Supporting identification, reporting and close-out of non-conformances (NCRs)
  • Assisting with root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions
  • Contributing to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Interfacing with project teams, operations, contractors and suppliers
  • Supporting communication of quality requirements and expectations
