A leading construction firm in the UK is seeking a Design Manager for their Midlands projects. The role involves overseeing design from concept to documentation while collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients. Key skills required include technical knowledge of construction, strong communication abilities, and a relevant degree. Willmott Dixon are currently recruiting for a Design Manager to work on exciting projects within our Midlands construction business. We deliver projects across multiple sectors in the West Midlands. Willmott Dixon support hybrid working and this role will require a presence in our Coleshill office or Snowhill office/ on-site at least 3 days per week.
As a Design Manager you will be responsible for the development and control of design on one or more projects. You will identify where we can add extra value for our customers whilst ensuring buildability and quality that meet statutory requirements.
The Design Manager collaborates with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and customers, to establish project requirements, objectives, and design criteria. You will also share your knowledge with other members of the design team as well as operational and commercial teams to ensure the overall success of the project.
