Job summary

A children's residential care provider in Seghill is seeking a Deputy Manager to oversee operations and support children aged 7 to 17 with Mild Learning Difficulties and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. Qualifications

About the Role

As Deputy Manager, you’ll be joining a dedicated team that provides care and support to children aged 7 to 17 with Mild Learning Difficulties and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You will play a crucial role in overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the home, ensuring that high‑quality care is delivered consistently.

Service Users

Children aged 7-17 with Mild Learning Difficulties (LD) and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

Hours & Pay
  • Hours: 48 hours per week (4 x 12‑hour shifts) on a rolling rota, days only. You will also be responsible for managing staff rotas, including your own shifts.
  • Salary: £37,800

What You Need
  • Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce, or equivalent, such as Level 3 in Residential Childcare
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Assistant Manager, or Senior Residential Support Worker in the residential childcare sector
  • Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence for manual vehicles
  • Skills: Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing; IT proficient with a desire to learn new skills
  • Understanding of: Safeguarding children, residential childcare legislation, and confidence in supervising care teams
