Salary: £44,160.74 per annum (incl. pension scheme)

About The Role

As Deputy Head of Education, you will support the Head of Education to deliver a high quality education programme at Oakhill STC, ensuring safety, safeguarding, health, wellbeing and learning are integrated into every aspect of the centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing education provision to meet the national curriculum, contractual requirements and safeguarding standards.
  • Support planning and implementation of the timetable to ensure a balanced programme that meets young people’s needs and offers opportunities for national accreditation.
  • Coach and support staff, providing supervision to maximise performance and uphold values, diversity, policy, legislation and inspection standards.
  • Manage daily department resourcing, including teaching delivery, to maintain continuous quality provision.
  • Ensure effective communication and documentation, processing and disseminating accurate and timely information in line with inspection, company and contractual requirements.
  • Assist in selecting, training and developing professional teaching and support staff to optimise service delivery.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to share best practice and drive continuous improvement in the educational service.
About You

You will have a professional teaching qualification and experience working with 14–18‑year‑olds, including those with special needs. You promote a child‑centred approach that prioritises safeguarding, welfare and wellbeing, and you provide a stable environment for children and staff. Your leadership style is resilient, engaging and adaptable to changing circumstances. You hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate and have lived in the UK for at least five years.
