Duties and responsibilities related to the Demi Baker role
  • Operate bakery machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, following standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare and produce baked goods consistently to meet the hotel’s quality, presentation, and taste standards.
  • Support senior bakers, including the Head Baker, with daily preparation and baking tasks as directed.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and properly storing deliveries of fresh produce and bakery supplies.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with food safety standards at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with the bakery and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
About you

You have a genuine passion for baking and culinary operations, with previous exposure to baking and experience working in a professional kitchen environment. You demonstrate a solid understanding of basic baking and food preparation techniques and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Flexibility is important, as some shifts may start as early as 4:00 AM. This role requires a dynamic combination of creativity, leadership, and teamwork.
