About the Role

We are currently recruiting a Yard Operative, Counterbalance to join our Warehouse team. This is a hands‑on role responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of vehicles, ensuring stock integrity, compliance, and adherence to health & safety and GDP requirements.

You will work closely with Stock Control, Logistics, Operations, Goods Out, Packing, and Quality & Compliance teams, as well as external haulage partners, to ensure smooth yard operations and on‑time vehicle movements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely load and unload delivery vehicles in line with goods in and goods out schedules.
  • Check department systems to monitor arriving vehicles and ensure timely processing, avoiding vehicle delays or pull‑outs.
  • Ensure all pallets are correctly wrapped and secure to prevent damage during transit, encouraging drivers to strap loads where applicable.
  • Follow load sheets accurately, ensuring the correct number of pallets are loaded onto the correct vehicle.
  • Identify and report damaged or contaminated products promptly to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Carry out general warehouse duties as required.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate counterbalance and other handling equipment safely and in compliance with all regulations.
  • Complete and record daily truck safety checks.
  • Clean trucks regularly in line with the agreed cleaning schedule.
  • Maintain a high standard of health & safety at all times.
  • Ensure all activities involving medicines and medical devices comply with Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
