GTC, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, is looking for a Control Manager who would like to help us reach our mission to "earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service".

Purpose of this role

Responsible for the overall safe management of Electrical Network Operations and Emergency response for GTC Electrical Networks.

Your Key Responsibilities Are
  • Lead and develop GTC Control Team.
  • Lead and develop GTC’s emergency resilience.
  • Act as GTC’s emergency resilience lead.
  • Manage development of GTC Control Systems.
  • Act as escalation point for Emergency Response and Operational Incidents.
  • Manage Emergency Response contracts.
  • Manage all electrical connections work requiring Operational Control of GTC’s networks.
  • Ensure all operatives are duly authorised to operate on GTC Electrical Networks.
Qualifications
  • Any other duties as required by the manager.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Accredited as IEng with a recognised Institution.
Experience / Knowledge
  • Experience of Electrical networks and safe operations of electricity networks up to 33kVA.
  • Extensive knowledge of Electricity Legislation and regulations.
  • Authorised as a GTC HV Control Engineer.
Abilities / Skills
  • Able to adapt and prioritise work.
  • Excellent Customer Service.
Desirable
  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent.
  • IOSH qualification.
  • Experience of Electrical networks and safe operations of electricity networks up to 132kVA.
  • Experience in managing, training and developing engineers.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety Laws.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate NMS systems.
Conditions of Employment
  • Criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) – required for handling sensitive customer data.
  • Participation in a standby rota.
  • Holding a valid driving licence.
