Job summary

A community-focused maintenance organization is seeking a Contracts Team Leader to manage and lead the contracts team, ensuring efficient delivery and commercial oversight of maintenance contracts. Candidates should have a formal qualification in Quantity Surveying, strong technical knowledge, and significant experience in procurement and delivering projects to quality, time, and cost KPIs. The role offers a salary of £49,370 per annum with a work schedule of 35 hours per week in Edinburgh.

About the role

You will lead and manage the contracts team to ensure the efficient delivery and commercial oversight of improvement and maintenance contracts. This includes responsibility for day to day contract performance, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on schedule, and within agreed cost parameters.

You will be part of the contract’s division, providing clear guidance and leadership to estimators, supervisors and administrators, fostering a collaborative, solutions-focused culture that promotes quality and continuous improvement.

As a qualified Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the organisation’s cost modelling and tender activity, negotiate contract costs, and support procurement processes and contract framework development.

About you

You must have:

  • A formal/professional qualification in Quantity Surveying with a strong technical knowledge.
  • Experience of procurement process.
  • A track record of delivering programmes to agreed time, cost, quality, and safety KPIs.
  • Significant experience in bidding activity, including preparing estimates, forecasts, and bills of quantities using recognised quantity surveying methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience of resolving complex contractual issues and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of contract law and commercial contract administration.
