Core Hours: 08:00-16:35 (Mon – Thu) 08:00-15:10 (Fri)

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full-time and based onsite with potential hybrid working

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum + Discretionary Bonus

We are looking for a Configuration Manager to support our mission of protecting lives. You will support the global expansion of our military vehicle engineering and technical services operation, specialising in complete vehicle integration and support solutions for the UK Ministry of Defence’s protected mobility fleet.

Main duties

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a company‑wide Configuration Management process.
• Develop, maintain, and embed Project Configuration & Data Management Plans, ensuring adoption through education and training.
• Assess and resolve urgent configuration control requests, making decisions aligned with project priorities and lifecycle stages.
• Deliver process improvements that balance flexibility with control, in line with company procedures.
• Manage the full lifecycle of product configuration (hardware, software, and documentation) in accordance with UK DEF‑STAN 05-57.
• Conduct regular reviews of Project Configuration Management Plans, updating as required.
• Provide training and guidance to project teams on Configuration Management tools, standards, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate Configuration Status Records and Accounts across all products.

Experience

Required

• Degree in an appropriate scientific, technical, engineering, or similar subject.

Desired

• MA, MSc, or PhD in an appropriate scientific, technical, engineering, analytical, mathematical, social sciences, humanities or similar subject.
• Experience of using tools to support design release, baseline control and Change management (Windchill PDM tool, MCAD (Creo), DOORS, Software CM tools and SAP).
• Certified Auditor capable of leading process and Configuration audits.
• Membership of or working towards membership of relevant professional body.
