About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled and experienced CAD Engineer to join our civil engineering groundwork team. You’ll play a key role in producing accurate designs and drawings for infrastructure and foundation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about precision and collaboration in a dynamic construction environment.

Location

Head Office (MK42 7EF) and Site Setting Out Engineers for projects within a 75-mile radius of Bedford.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for groundwork and civil engineering projects
  • Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and design teams to refine concepts
  • Ensure all drawings meet relevant civil engineering standards and regulations
  • Support tender submissions and project planning with accurate design documentation
  • Assist in design reviews and provide technical input during construction phases
  • Identify opportunities for design improvements and value engineering
Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience with LSS modelling software.
  • Familiarity with 3D visualization tools such as Navisworks, SketchUp, or Lumion for project presentations and coordination
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, groundworks, and construction processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
  • Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline) preferred but not essential.
