Community Paediatric Consultant - Special interest in Neurodisability
Permanent Contract - 7PA (Part Time)
This is an exciting new Consultant opportunity to join the Community Paediatric team in Great Western Hospital as a Community Paediatrician with a special interest in Neurodisability.
We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor who will be a proactive addition to our workforce, and who is interested in taking the service forward, with our close links with our hospital colleague's and tertiary centres in Bristol and Oxford.
We need a Consultant Community Paediatrician who can work collaboratively within GWH and multi-disciplinary partners across Swindon and Wiltshire.
Community Paediatrics is part of an integrated Paediatric Service. The team currently consists of 4 Consultants, 3 speciality doctors and 3 specialist nurse prescribers. We have a dedicated administrative team who provide excellent support for all aspects of the services we provide. This includes:
We work collaboratively with therapy and education partners from triage to joint planning for care. We undertake robust neurobehavioural assessment in a holistic manner, using tools such as QB tests and E‑Conners as well as multidisciplinary social communication assessments. We run regular multisdisciplinary complex movement clinics as well as manage and review children with complex neurodisability and end of life care. For this purpose we work closely with acute epilepsy and respiratory services both in secondary and tertiary centres. We are an early adopter of paperless technologies to increase admin efficiency and reduce paperwork. We would support involvement in formal Quality Improvement projects to support and evidence improvements and as a department continually strive to enhance our service.
Our STAR values are at the heart of everything we do. You can expect to see them in the way we act and the way we treat each other. Our values make us who we are. We will expect your values and behaviours to reflect the STAR Values of the organisation:
