Job description

Stotfold Town Council is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable Community Engagement Officer. This role will be pivotal in connecting with and involving the local community. This role will lead event management, communications, marketing, and engagement initiatives to promote Council services, projects, and activities. They will also provide support to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

Key responsibilities
  • Event management – planning, co‑ordinating and delivering civic and community events.
  • Communications and marketing – managing council communications, platforms, and channels.
  • Community Engagement – fostering links between the Council, community groups and key stakeholders.
  • Mayoral support – managing diary, preparing briefing notes and co‑ordinating civic functions.
Person Specification

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong organisational abilities and project management skills
  • Experience in events management
  • Confident with social media and designing promotional materials.
  • Passionate about community engagement and participation
  • Flexible, proactive approach and willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Knowledge of local government structure and committees is desirable but not essential
Terms and Conditions
  • 37 hours per week
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days after 5 years.
  • Hybrid working model with the requirement to work from Greenacre Centre 2‑3 days a week.
