The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join our growing global family of colleagues on one year fixed term contract. The role will see the successful candidate take responsibility for supporting the Technical and Marketing functions within our well-established UK and Ireland division.

This is an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidate to gain invaluable hands‑on experience in a global veterinary pharmaceuticals organisation. The Commercial and Technical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting various activities within the UK and Ireland team. The role involves providing product support to veterinary professionals and completing pharmacovigilance tasks, analysis and management of customer and sales data, plus involvement in direct marketing initiatives and event management and much more besides. The primary purpose is to gain practical experience in the pharmaceutical industry, contribute to the company's growth, and develop essential skills in a commercial environment.

The position is based out of our picturesque offices near Shrewsbury but will also involve some hybrid and remote working.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Respond to all incoming product enquiries in an efficient, knowledgeable, documented, industry compliant and courteous manner to provide an excellent level of technical customer service.
  • Process all pharmacovigilance cases (e.g. suspected adverse reactions (SARs) to Dechra products) as per local guidelines and Dechra standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and maintain internal IT systems including technical server, FAQ Database and PV Works to ensure that systems are up-to-date, and data can be easily extracted.
  • Provide support to 'Salesforce' Customer Relationship Management System projects - e.g. data entry, account updates.
  • Run sales reports and manipulate data in the imap and Targit databases.
  • Provide support for Brand Managers across the different species categories; companion animal, food producing animal and equine. For example, by preparing marketing e‑mails, facilitating internal approval and asset management processes, liaising with external suppliers and producing and updating offer forms, product overviews, price lists, out of stock reports.
  • Facilitating successful running of events and exhibitions by providing pre‑ and post‑event support as well as attending some events in person for 'on the ground' support.

Additional Information:
  • The Commercial and Technical Assistant may be required to undertake additional duties in line with business needs at the discretion of the Technical Services Manager, Marketing Manager and UK Country Leadership Team.
  • This may involve out of office activities to include (but not exclusive to) working at alternative sites, attending company meetings and attending congresses.
  • Based in Shrewsbury with some home working
